Aurora Housing Development Corporation (AHDC) was founded in the early 1990s to help provide sufficient entry-level and low-to-moderate income housing opportunities in Aurora. AHDC also provides financial assistance to owners.

AHDC works with other non-profit groups to plan low-to-moderate income in surrounding Central Nebraska towns and has endorsed private developers interested in developing low-to-moderate income units.

In 2005, AHDC started construction of a home, located at 7th & G Streets in Aurora. The home sold in 2006. Most recently, AHDC constructed a home on 18th Street which sold in late 2007.
