Poco Creek Golf Course - is a public nine-hole golf course located in Aurora. The newly redesigned layout will challenge golfers of all skill levels with its three sets of tees and tree lined fairways. If you just need to work on your game, the course also has a driving range. Come join us for a round today! Aurora City Parks - Approximately 70 acres of land within Aurora's city limits are devoted to parks. Providing beautiful wooded areas for picnics and family gatherings as well as facilities for baseball, softball, tennis, swimming, hiking , camping, and a skate park Streeter Park - offers picnic shelters and tables, restrooms, playground equipment, horsehoe pits, free camping facilities with electric hookups and two lighted baseball/softball fields as well as Parkview Swimming Pool. Refshauge Park - has one lighted baseball/softball field, a lighted skate park, a disc golf course, restrooms, picnic shelter and playground equipment covering 8 acres of land. Cole Park - covers 4 acres of land includes playground equipment, picnic shelters and restrooms. Edgerton Park and Mitchell Field is the site of Intermediate League, American Legion action and located close by are three little league ball fields. Pioneer Trails - is located one mile north and one mile east of town and has several picnic tables. It will eventually feature a hiking trail, fishing and a swimming spot. For more information call 694-4440. 12th Street Cinema - Open year round the theater offers local residents the chance to see some of the latest movies without the travel or expense of going out of town. Each movie has showings on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Some also have extra showings such as Saturday & Sunday matinées - especially for family movies. All staff at the theater are volunteers. Plainsman Museum - Journey through Yesterday as you walk through a sod house, listen to player pianos, study artifacts, visit the one-room schoolhouse, the home of General Delevan Bates, and learn, or remember, much more about the history of Hamilton County, Nebraska and the Great Plains. The Youth Center - The youth center opened its doors over 11 years ago - now located in a bigger building, across the street from the previous location. The Youth Center has become a popular hang out for Hamilton County Youth to spend their time. And why not? The Center offers a variety of activities including foosball, boccerball, ping pong, skeeball, arcade games, over 200 video games on 16 TV's, stereo system with a full stock of CD's, cotton candy machine, free popcorn, drinks and other donated food. A group of volunteers have logged thousands of hours to sponsor, clean and maintain the center. The Edgerton Explorit Center - The Edgerton Explorit Center is devoted to providing fun, hands-on learning opportunities for people of all ages. The center provides exhibits, activities, special events, camps and tour programs which offer countless opportunities for discovery and exploration. The L'eglise Art Center - 1105 K Street 402-631-9578 - L'eglise Art Center & Gallery aims to provide an educational and aesthetic atmosphere for the visual arts to all ages and interest levels in the community. L'eglise achieves these aims through a variety of programs for children, teens and adults, and through the monthly display of visual art created by regional and national artists. |
